Our client wanted to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary at the IFA trade show by inviting select guests to an after-hours event at a very special venue in Berlin. So, we suggested an approach that combined the old with the new. And the idea was a big hit! After all, the STARK! Marketing Team is known for finding the best venues anywhere.
On September 2, 2018, around 100 guests accepted their exclusive invitation to Mampes Neue Heimat, where our client presented innovative technology in a spectacular sacral atmosphere that offered guests the opportunity to breath in real Berlin history. A uniquely designed exhibit not only gave guests an amazing look at the latest trends, but also let them experience the technology hands-on, including brand new devices manufactured by an extremely diverse group of our client's OEM partners.
And the venue was the perfect place for the social program too. It was a top-notch evening Berlin-style with a taste of history that awakened the senses. Guests were treated to Berlin specialties that included unique drinks and unusual dishes. And the music was an enticing invitation for guests to celebrate the evening in full party mode.
From April to November 2018, our client hosted 12 highly informative workshops for software developers at various EMEA destinations.
STARK! Marketing was called on once again to manage our client's event, this time a roadshow through Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Israel, Russia, Poland, and Spain. However, STARK! Marketing was first given a list of requirements. The venues had to be easy to reach and also trendy, equipped with the most modern technology.
In Germany, STARK! Marketing selected Munich's extraordinary event venue, Design Offices in the Highlight Towers. With numerous conference rooms that inspire all the way up to the 32nd floor and a gigantic 360° panoramic view, this venue has the highest conference rooms in the city, making events held there unforgettable. All of the 12 venues provided the most modern technology, offered multifunctional and flexible equipment, as well as high-quality furnishings. It was no different in Munich, where guests had everything they needed for lively IT workshops. After all, these software developer workshops on technical computing and artificial intelligence had some heavy-hitting topics on the agenda.
The invitation generated a lot of interest and so it came as no surprise that the list of developers who RSVP’d for each of the twelve events was quite long. At each of the locations, 50 participants could choose one or two days to test-drive the latest tools during various hands-on sessions and implement AI solutions on their notebooks. Participants benefited from the exclusive expertise and invaluable tips on how to implement AI projects more successfully in the future, which was offered by our client’s experts and partner company free of charge.
Our client was clear about the requirements for this event, but which venue would fulfill all of them? The venue had to be reachable by direct flight from Houston and no more than 70 km from the airport. And it had to offer the most modern conference facilities at a five-star hotel as well as cultural highlights, unique team-building activities, and a multifaceted social program over a three-day conference.
For STARK! Marketing there was no doubt that Munich, our home town, was the perfect place. And our client fell in love with the idea immediately as well. This is how it began: forty international executives were flown to Munich for the Huntsman Leadership Event. For three days, September 17-20, they discussed the company's global strategy during multiple plenary sessions and various workshops.
With its theme, “Modern City Living at the Heart of Historic Munich”, the Charles Hotel provided the perfect setting for this top-class event in every aspect. A haven with a view of the Old Botanical Gardens, the five-star hotel was not only exclusive and accommodating (with a state-of-the-art spa!) but was also the ideal setting for productive meetings with its high-tech modular meeting rooms.
Participants gathered for an aperitif in the private lounge at Sofia's Bar the first evening, a setting that transported its guests to another time and place with its Moroccan flair. The private-dining CEO dinner that followed was created by the former Michelin Star Chef, Michael Hüsken, and his team, who served extraordinary delicacies with a hint of the exotic.
On the second evening, guests were able to stir things up in the kitchen! Even though the social program at the Schweiger² Kochschule required the guests to pick up a spoon and join in, this culinary experience wasn’t any less memorable. With Michelin Star Chef, Andi Schweiger, at their side offering tips and advice during preparation of the various courses, guests were guaranteed an amazing experience. Participants could then enjoy the fruits of their labor along with select wine in a one-of-a-kind setting.
Everyone agreed: the event offered so much variety that the three-day high-level conference was an all-around success!
At the end of June, partners, customers, and employees traded in their business suits for comfortable sportswear and joined our client for a relaxing day among the Alpine flora and fauna at Lake Tegern in Bavaria. A bus trip from Munich followed by a short walk took the group to the mountain hunting lodge, where a STARK!-designed mix and match program offered something for everyone.
Some participants took it easy and enjoyed conversing with one another against the idyllic backdrop of fields and forests. Others were busy making their own veal sausage in the Weißwurst Workshop using a hand-crank sausage stuffer. Of course, all their hard work was followed by a proper taste test. There was also something for those who love sports. At the Cross-Golf Challenge, guests could show off their athletic skill. And the archery event was perfect for those who could perfectly pair strength with concentration.
There was plenty of food to go around too. No one went hungry after this day of sporting fun! Upon arrival, guests were greeted with a hearty snack. In the afternoon they had a chance to chat over coffee and cake. The warm summer evening finished off with festive grilled specialties, such as a crispy suckling pig and delicious stick fish, as well as other delectable delicacies. And hardly anyone could pass up a glass or two of draft beer before taking the bus back to Munich after a special STARK! event surrounded by nature.
Our client has been an established name at the annual Girls' Day for many years. Once again, the goal this year was to spark girls' enthusiasm for STEM studies (science, technology, engineering, and math). Together with female students from the University of Applied Sciences in Pforzheim, our client showed how multifaceted jobs offered by high-tech companies really are—from mechanical engineering, design, and simulation to electronics and IT.
And the technology obstacle course proved how much fun technology can be. The whole day was hands-on and gave the girls an opportunity to ask questions and try things out. And while the first aid app (developed together with the German Red Cross) gave the girls a first look at software programming, the biofeedback analyzer (developed by two female students) was a way for them to test their ability to stay calm, cool, and collected. In the Chill Contest, only girls who could regulate their stress level successfully had a real chance of winning.
As a certified "Women Owned" company with many clients from the IT sector, we were particularly thrilled that STARK! Marketing was able to make a big contribution—for the eighth year on behalf of our client—at the opening ceremony of the nation-wide Girls'Day in the Federal Chancellery. The goal was once again to excite girls about modern-day STEM subjects and teach them more about innovative, fascinating professions.
In April, OEMs and system integrators accepted our client's personal invitation to join them for an exciting event in Munich. STARK! Marketing knew exactly what to do when it came to the theme of the two-day conference.
Not only were the topics to be presented truly amazing—from artificial intelligence to big data and high-performance computing—but the venue was unforgettable too. Eighty participants from the entire EMEA region met at Roomers, one of Munich's newest and trendiest hotels.
But that wasn't all. Even the gala dinner was held at an extraordinary venue. Participants enjoyed an unforgettable dinner in the inspiring atmosphere of the Premium Lounge at BMW Welt, the heart of the Bavarian automaker and the infamous architectural wonder where customers can pick up the new BMW they ordered. While the Käfer catering team provided delicious food for any taste, Toni Bartl and his original comedy show filled with unusual musical instruments made from garden tools gave guests a night to remember.
Anybody who's anybody in the HPC world was in Frankfurt at the ISC 2018 in June. And our client, a leader in supercomputing, was there as well, relying once again on STARK! Marketing's experienced team for its concept design and event organization.
What was the mission? Same approach as in 2017, with the same conditions and the same briefing. Sound easy? Not really, because the goal was to attract even more visitors this year using the same concept as last year. But our team loves a challenge. And this time it mastered it with flying colors three times over: at the booth, for the Special Keynote, and at the networking reception.
Ready to knock this project out of the park, we relied on our recipes for success and made everything just a little more grandiose and a little more impressive. Even from far away, the branding areas caught everyone's eye. With cutting-edge product demos and a collaboration zone with integrated theater, our client's booth brought in more visitors than ever before. Designed specifically for our client by our creative STARK! team, the Fellow Traveler Tour was an ingenious way to ensure that our client's partner companies were also an integral part of the successful campaign. And the Special Keynote, with approximately 400 attendees, was a big hit.
To keep the positive energy flowing, our client hosted an evening event at an exclusive venue high above the Frankfurt rooftops. While guests enjoyed lively discussions in the special "Meet the Expert" zones, the rooftop terrace at the ALEX Skyline Plaza offered relaxed networking in a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. As the sun set, guests finished off the evening with a delicious meal and tantalizing drinks. At the end of the day, it wasn't just the 450 invited guests who were thoroughly satisfied with the entire event. We are proud to say that our client was too.
